I generally don't ask people "Did you have fun?" after an Ecstatic Dance.
Instead, my favorite thing to say is "I hope you got what you needed."
Asking if they had fun implies that the experience "should" be fun. It often is, and that's great of course. There's often laughter, child-like joy, and general silliness.
It's also often challenging, growthful, and transformational. Difficult emotions may arise. Moving through them - literally and figuratively - can be deeply healing, especially when done in community.
Being witnessed in your grief, your sorrow, your joy, and your ecstacy are all part of the healing power of Ecstatic Dance. We heal best in community. 💓
Ecstatic Dance at Heartwood Soundstage was all of that, and I feel humbled and honored to have facilitated such a powerful experience.
More to come! 🎉
